This week, Felicia speaks with Jasmine (@jetsettingjasmine), a clinical therapist and owner of Royal Fetish films! The women touch on a variety of subjects; from the struggles of raising a young black family in a majority white area, to recognizing one’s own privilege and how that shapes one’s own perception of authority and rights. Jasmine also lets us into her theraputic practice and sheds light onto the trauma felt within the black community that is caused by inherent racism, and unjust treatments during mental health reporting. The women close the coversation by discussing Jasmines expirence with racism within the porn industry, why she created and founded Royal Fetish Films, and how the sexualization of women of colour has shaped the porn industry.

Penny is a young advocate for LGBTQIA+ rights and by sharing her journey, she hopes to inspire others to be truthful to themselves and accepting of others.

This week, Felicia speaks with Dr. Kameelah Phillips about systemic racism present in our health care systems. The ladies discuss a vast array of issues that have led to the systemic racism in the healthcare system, along with the changes that need to be had. Dr. Phillips provides several examples of systemic oppression and racism that have occurred, from the Tuskegee experiment, the Tulsa race riot, and the book “Even the Rat Was White” by Robert V. Guthrie, which looks at how ingrained racism is to the subconscious mind. Dr. Phillips shares her knowledge with us to demonstrate how the entire healthcare system is broken, and how each individual has to be aware and conscious of this in order to make our society an specifically, in this case, the healthcare system, inclusive space for all to better serve one another.

The ladies tackle topics such as body autonomy, heteronormative culture, societal expectations, mental health, and the troubling statistics against the LGBTQIA+ community. Marnie provides critical resources for parents, community members, and allies to help educate and empower all!
